Maybe you are visiting Barcelona and you’ve heard that Catalonia might become independent from Spain? Would you like to know why?
Tot-Història is a cultural association of historians who can organise a small workshop for you in English in order to explain why some Catalans have begun this process and why other Catalans oppose it. In the workshop we will also talk about the hopes on one side and the fears on the other, about the main actors who are in favour and against and those who are participating in this movement. The historical background and the current context will also be discussed from a rigorous and dispassionate point of view, with the reasoning of both supporters and detractors clearly defined.
We would like to invite you to participate in a workshop in the centre of Barcelona by coming along and listening to
a talk given by a historian. The talk will include pictures and videos and will provide you with both the necessary knowledge and visual props to fully understand this moment in history, as well as what led up to it.
Location: District of Ciutat Vella (downtown Barcelona)
Time: To be arranged
Duration: 1 ½ hours
Price: 6 euros per person. There will need to be a minimum of 6 participants
Organiser: Ferran Camps, holder of a Degree in History from the University of Barcelona (UB) and a Degree in Documentation from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He has given conferences on European separatist movements of the 20th century and published various articles in Italy on Catalan independence and the Spanish political situation in general.
